My Summer slow down...

It has been some time since I have posted to the blog. Part of this is because I have been teaching this summer and part of it is because I did not want to get ahead of myself on the sabbatical.

Two big events have happened since the last post (or within the last two months). One was the purchase of Symbian by Noika and the establishment of a new app development alliance. This might be seen as an alternative (and therefore threat) to Android by Google. The other big event(s) has been the product announcements by Apple to the iPhone. THe iPhone has gone 3G and also is pushing app development by third parties.

The iPhone, Symbian and Google Android will all have a significant impact on what mobile computing will look like next year.

I will be officially ramping up my posts for my sabbatical after the first of August. I will be teaching and enjoying a little vacation until then.
